As a Master’s Student, researched topics related to topology optimization, machine learning, and multidisciplinary design optimization.
Vibrations and Acoustics Engineering Intern
Bombardier Aerospace
May 2021 - Aug 2021
As an Intern, was critical in addressing knowledge gaps in vibration analysis of aircraft structures. Generated finite element models of three aircraft structures using Hypermesh. Analyzed modal vibration response of aircraft structures using Nastran (SOL 103/108). Developed techniques for accurate modelling of vibration response. Tuned FEA model input parameters for correlation to experimental data.
Junior Mechanical Designer
SMSD Lab, Queen's University
May 2019 - Aug 2019
As a Junior Designer on a small team, was instrumental in developing CAD model for a fully functional 3D printed electric ATV. Upon joining the project, reverse engineered the electric ATV for structural optimization. Modelled new ATV components and assemblies using Siemens NX. Generated finite element meshes for the new components using HyperMesh. Interpreted optimization results into 3D models. Reached across subsystem design groups to solve complex challenges when reverse engineering.
Robotics Designer
Kingston, ON
Jan 2020 - Now
As a Robotics Designer, combined interests of mechanical engineering, 3D printing, and robotics to developed a fully 3D printed large-scale RC car platform. Designed custom RC car components in NX. Performed FEA and topology optimization on components to reduce material use. Validated models with hand calculations. 3D printed and assembled all components. Maintained budgeting and schedule for project. Iterated design to improve manufacturability and performance. Electrical system was comprised of off-the-shelf electrical components.
Mechanical Design Consultant
Kingston, ON
Nov 2021- Now
As a Mechanical Design Consultant, developed rock core scanning machine for geomechanics laboratory. Organized project objectives, timeline, and budget. Designed machine assembly in Siemens NX.
